I’m proud to be an American because in America I can go to school. You can marry any people you want in America. Also, you can go any where you want, but in other countries you can’t do the things you want to do. In some families the parents choose who you marry. America is the best place to be!

Why I’m Proud To Be An American
By Katie Maiorisi
Grade 3/Colvin
America is a great country to live in because you have free rights. Everybody has the right to make their own decisions and choices because in America you are the boss of yourself. If you have dedication and you work hard you will have many opportunities in life.
Women also have free rights in America like to run in road races, read whatever they want, drive, dress and vote. In some other countries women don’t have the same rights. I feel very happy and free about my rights.
You have the right to choose a friend, dark or light, because it does not matter what is on the outside, it matters what is on the inside.
I love the songs we sing about America like, The Star Spangled Banner, My Country Tis of Thee, and America The Beautiful.
I appreciate what the men and women in the war are doing for us. I know our country is strong and will always have freedom.

I am proud to be an American
because I am free,
I am proud to be an American
because of Justice and Liberty.
I am proud to be an American
because of all the things I can do,
I am proud to be an American
and I hope you are too.

I love America there are so many reasons why,
When I see Glory flying, I almost want to cry.
The brave soldiers fight for us to let our country stand proud,
For I am one of those soldiers, who stand and scream out loud.
I wish to help our country, I wish the fighting was over,
All this crying of pain and suffering is never really over.
But we still need to support our troops with love and prayer,
And that is how we can help them over there.
For I, Alexandra Tait, is someone who really cares,
And my loyalty to America will live on through the years.

America is a very generous country.
My country is slave-free.
Enough Wars!, says our president defending our country.
Ruling all other countries isn’t important to us.
In America, it doesn’t matter what religion you believe in.
Common war is trying to be prevented.
America tries to help other countries.
