Email Changes - August 11, 2016

I hope you are enjoying your summer.  I am sorry that this may be a bit confusing, but these upcoming changes need your immediate attention.
I wanted to let you know that we are in the process of moving our email to a new hosting company.
       - At some point in the next few days your existing email ( or depending on when it was created) will no longer function.
       - You may want to download any emails now as we will not be able to copy them to the new server
       - Your new email will be and will be linked to your school network account. The password you use to sign in on a school computer or the WiFi system in the school NOT your existing email password.
       - There will be new settings for email clients (Thunderbird, Outlook, email apps, etc.) so to test your email please go to www. and use the new ( and your network password) to determine when the new email is functioning.  I will be sending email client settings to the new email address.
       - I will be available on the professional day to assist anyone having issues with the changeover.
I have every reason to believe that any email currently located on the current hosts server will not be accessible after the move.  If you use an email client (i.e. Thunderbird, Outlook, Eudora, many email apps on cellphones) and your email is stored locally on your computer, tablet, or phone these emails will NOT be affected.  Only those emails still on the server.   If you only use to access your emails then these are the emails that will no longer be accessible.   If you need to have them, I can only suggest that you forward them to another email address that you have.
I do not know just when this will start but it means that for several days while it is being performed, you will NOT be able to send or receive email for your account.  It also means that I will be unable to contact you when the move is complete and how to get your email as it will change.
We are moving to Microsoft 365 for Education.  The plan is to use your network login from the school (first.last) as your email address as well.   This will allow us to link in Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint etc. in the school with the 'cloud' based versions of these programs.   You will also have 'home' rights to install the full versions of these products on your Windows or MacIntosh machines.  More on this later.
   Thank you,
Tip of the day - Print this email right NOW and put it in a safe place as you will not be able to retrieve it later.  It will also be available on the Technology link at
